News

This is where I (attempt to) write monthy news updates. I try to do these monthly because I want to feel like I'm actually doing something with this website rather than just having it up on display. Monthy news updates should come around sometime in the middle of the month (usually the 15th or so). The news entries are sorted chronologically starting with the most recent one.

If you want an RSS feed of these news posts, then click here. You'll also get notified whenenver I write a new monthy news update.

March 2021

As I'm writing this, it's now the 24th. And you know what that means - as of this day, I am 18 years old. I felt a bit tired for the past couple of days. But I think I'm feeling a bit better now. So, let's get started with the news.

I've been contemplating throwing away the whole "monthly news" thing and just going back to writing individual articles. I just think it's more efficient to do, and deadlines can be stressing. It also makes sense for archiving content, as people may want to link to a specific entry and not sift through hundreds of thousands of entries on one page. Maybe if I do stuff like this again I could put the posts into folders like "https://example.org/2021/03/24/index.html". But I think I'd just stick to something like "https://example.org/articles/article.html", since (especially now that I think about it) I don't write much articles.
By the way, if the way I'm writing sounds a bit weird, just know that I write these the day they're published. I don't usually do "rough rafts" and "final drafts", at least not for these type of things. It's how I've usually done things like this - even as far back when I still did "J.G. Talk" videos.
Also, according to Neocities, my website is currently at 10,051 views! I'm guessing that's 10,051 total visits. Not bad for something started 10 months ago. Anyways, that's it - you probably shouldn't expect to see this page being updated anymore. If you like these, then save them in the Wayback Machine. I know I will.

February 2021

As you can probably tell, this was NOT posted in February. In fact, as I'm writing this, it's now March.

I'm not gonna beat myself up over it, as I explicitly stated that I'm not able to guarantee that there will always be a news post every month. Come to think of it, I might just switch to doing standalone news articles instead of something monthly.

Anyway, on to something very important. I won't be hosting my videos on this very website. Instead I'll link to other places where I can host videos, such as Internet Archive and a good PeerTube instance. I've also remuxed my toons from MP4 to WebM with ffmpeg. So now the videos will have a smaller file size while being the same quality.

I've also noticed that when I updated my website on February 20th, my website's statistics were higher than they've ever been! With 109 unique visits, I think that's a good sign. Click here for a screenshot.

Well, I...um...actually, I don't know what else to write about. I guess I'll stop here. Keep in mind, this isn't supposed to be anything professional, it's just a way for me to keep myself preoccupied with this site. So, til next time. Now, time to get working on March's post...

January 2021

Hello, and welcome to the first ever monthly news update!

As you can probably notice, I've revamped this website signifigantly! How do you like it?

For those of you who still want to read my old blog posts, don't worry. I've saved them all, and you can read them here. I'll still be leaving up "Goodbye, YouTube" in case I need a quick link to explain to people why I left.

Anyway, my main point here is that I want to expand my potential with this website and my creative endeavours. I hope to create some webcomics and some more animations this year, and I also hope to do even more. Maybe I'm being too ambitious, maybe I'm trying to do too much at once. But whatever, man. It's been a long time since I've created anything, so I'd just be glad to do something.

As I'm writing this, there's only four days left until the 15th. There's still a bunch of stuff I need to prepare, like the character sheets, the videos, etc. I think I'm handling this website pretty well, and I think I'll be very successful in this path.

I guess that's it for now. I'll try to make February's news post longer, since even I'll admit this was pretty short. I'll probably update this entry if things change (though I usually don't like to edit older entries). In any case, goodbye, and may this year be a successful one!
